Illuminated cabinet drawers with linear LED lighting fixtures.

New York City (High-End Residential):

The client wanted to illuminate 36 drawers with 24-volt DC-LED linear lights in her dressing room. The electrician used the recessed (GRI 3030-T) low-voltage door jamb switches to turn on and off the lights.   That would require 36 REMCON relays and 36 LED drivers as well to be able to control each lighting zone individually.

We were providing three 12-zone lighting control relay panels with three LED drivers instead.

The relay panels are controlling the secondary side (24 volts) of the LED drivers, that’s why one driver was enough for 12 lighting zones.

The control panels alongside the led drivers were installed in the mechanical closet (about 50 feet from the beginning of the lighting fixtures) to ensure easy access for maintenance and to meet the requirements of the National Electrical Codes.

Conclusion:

It would be such a waste of time and money to install 36 LED drivers (plus 36 REMCON relays) when 3 LED drivers are enough to energize all lighting zones.

Features

  • With the use of Pannon’s LED closet lighting control panels, there is no need for an individual driver for each cabinet, and you eliminate the need for RIB relays as well as Remcon relays for activated lighting.
  • Uses just one or fewer LED Driver(s) for multiple LED lighting zones.
  • Lighting zones are dimmable (grouped dimming).
  • Control Panel can be installed up to 100 feet from the beginning of the luminaries to have easy access for maintenance and to ensure its location meets with National Electrical Code.
  • Can be integrated via I/O device as Third-Party Equipment (Flyback Diodes installed for each relay’s coil).
  • Any type of low voltage switch can be used to activate the lighting zones (if rated for 24 VDC/ 70 mAmps)
  • Available in five types: 4-channels, 6-channels, 8-channels, 12-channels with 3 LED Drivers and 12-channels with 4 LED Drivers. Each channel (lighting zone) is electrically coupled with the corresponding switching input within the enclosure.
  • Lighting control panels are customizable for project-specific needs.
  • All components are UL Listed and/or recognized by Underwriters Laboratories.
